This course has been developed to provide competent trainers with the knowledge, understanding and skills to be able to safely and competently deliver a range of physical intervention techniques and associated factors. The course is also unique due the fact that it also qualifies successful participants with the skills to teach handcuff restraint. Award Format: Course assessment: Legal and medical implications in relation to physical Intervention techniques. This unit is conducted on legislation and related medical consideration. Delegates will be tasked to provide two written assignments and one presentation that will form part of the teaching assessment. Tutor support will be provided during the learning phase. Technical skills and under-pinning principles relating to physical intervention techniques. Delegates will be taught how to deliver a range of primary control skills, pressure point applications and control. Additional techniques such as balance displacement methods, muscular dysfunction tactics and breakaway methods will also be taught. Entry Requirements: - Recognized teaching award - Level 2 Conflict Management Award or equivalent - Two industry references - Emergency first aid award or equivalent qualification - Experience in application of physical intervention skills How long is the training course? 40 hours classroom based.
